Abstract

The activity of the 27th Israeli conference (19-20 May 1998) on the applied mechanics is described. The main topics of more than 250 reports of scientists from 18 countries are the following ones: power engineering, mechanics of solid deformed bodies and structures, mechanics of liquids and gases, heat transfer, biomechanics, tribology, robotics, control, dynamics and vibrations, reliability, technical education, engineering innovations.
