    Abstract

A circular microstrip patch antenna with a circular polarization (CF) sense using a slotted ground structure is proposed at 2.4 GHz. To generate a CF sense, an unequal cross-shaped slot on a ground plane is utilized as a perturbation. The proposed antenna has two input ports: one for a righthanded (RH) CF and the other one for a left-handed (LH) CF. This configuration has benefit of a separated input port of each CF with one antenna. From the experimental results for both CF senses, the impedance and CF bandwidths of the proposed antenna are obtained up to 150 MHz and 30 MHz, respectively.
