N2 - This paper shows the feasibility of SQL/MDR development. Previous approach has several problems such as complicated exchanging mechanism, dependent description to local MDR systems, high cost for adding new systems, etc. Until now, the advantages of SQL/MDR have been qualitatively shown in several papers. In this paper, its merits are illustrated in quantitative views. Especially, we focus on the query modeling cost. To do this, we define several factors and evaluation model. Through the quantitative evaluation, the reason why SQL/MDR is required for exchanging metadata can be explicitly identified.
