    Abstract

This paper describes on application system that provides web sites with the location information of the internet users using their IP addresses. The IP addresses are very large size of data(232) and the response time of the system should be short enough to be capable of dealing with large number of requests (thousands of queries per second) of web sites. Location information retrieval is similar to network router issue in finding destination of packets with IP addresses but also much difference in protocol, data size and complexity. The location information system using IP address is comprised of array, trie, hashing, and memory database. Experiments of each data structure and their performances are compared and discussed
