Abstract
In this letter, a planar inverted-F antenna with a slot on a ground is proposed to improve the antenna radiation efficiency at the CDMA band of 824-894 MHz. In this configuration, the electric fields are more confined to the inverted-F section and the end-point of the ground. The measured results show that the radiation efficiencies of the proposed antenna are improved by up to 16.8% and that the radiation patterns are similar to those of the antenna without a slot.
