Abstract

This paper explored an antecedent for technology roadmapping and examined specific processes through which organizations’ technology roadmapping can influence innovation. Drawing on a resource-based view and the organizational support literature, we proposed a model wherein technology roadmapping mediates the indirect relationship between corporate foresight and innovation, and perceived organizational support has a moderating effect on the relationship between technology roadmapping and innovation. We tested this model in a field study involving 212 organizations, finding support for the hypothesized relationships. This study's findings add to the literature of technology roadmapping for the further development of theory and empirical studies.
