    Abstract

A procedure for constructing a reduced order equivalent model of large power systems has been proposed. The generators are grouped into coherent groups. The KEPCO system which consists of 237 generators has been equivalent to a 65-generator system. The simulation results for the equivalent system has been compared to those of the original system. The desired static and dynamic characteristics of the original system are carefully preserved.
