Abstract

Recent popularity of web-enabled mobile devices such as handheld devices and PDAs has made mobile Internet access very popular. However, considering the limitation of mobile devices such as small display and limited input capability, most of existing Web sites are not appropriate for mobile devices. An alternative scheme is required to support efficient web access. On the other hand, personalization plays an important role in the tailored access to the Web contents and services. In this paper, we propose a scheme for a mobile agent system that provides frequently accessed browsing link sequence with its path information, and recommend it according by preference elements in static profile. Also, mobile agent communicates with other agent server to extract information. Consequently, mobile users can access Web pages with minimum navigation on the small display. In addition, users can use customized service by preference. We have performed several experiments on the prototype system and reported some of the results.
