N2 - In this paper we propose diversity based multi-hop cooperative communication systems. In particular, we consider multiuser environment in which each user's terminal can be operated as a relay node. In our proposed systems, when the source node wants to make a communication link to the destination node via the relay node, the multiple relay nodes play a role as multi diversity paths. We propose three different conventional diversity combining schemes to work with nonregenerative multi-hop systems and propose one diversity scheme to work with regenerative multi-hop systems. From some selected numerical examples we show that the link performance is considerably increased with our proposed schemes.
