A Study on the Application of Game Theory for Optimal Operation of Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Abstract

Due to the eco-friendly policy, the supply of electric vehicles is increasing rapidly worldwide. As the supply of electric vehicles increases, the demand for charging them increases naturally. In some parts, competitions occur to charge the car at the desired time. To solve this congestion problem, it is necessary to consider the position of electric vehicle drivers, not just simple demand modeling. Many studies have used game theory to reflect driver behavior patterns and decision-making. Game theory is a non-cooperative game that means choosing the best option according to the response of competitors. Based on this, many kinds of research suggested, such as selecting an appropriate charging station considering charging demand and charging scheduling to satisfy multiple charging demands. This paper analyzed and described several studies related to charging stations using game theory.
