    Abstract

In this paper, a third-order subharmonic injection locked oscillator (SILO) with wide locking range and low phase noise is proposed. As a third-order subharmonic signal is applied, the output frequency is locked at the triple of the injected frequency. The locking range can be improved via a feedback signal, a harmonic suppression, and low Q-factor of a resonator. The proposed SILO has a wide locking range from 83 MHz to 870 MHz, while the injection power varies from 0 to 15 dBm. In addition, the SILO has a low phase noise of 119.61 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset.
