Abstract
One of the promising techniques to enhance MAC efficiency is orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA). Even though OFDMA-based WLAN allows multi-user transmissions, it requires a careful design of resource management particularly in densely deployed WLANs. To address this problem, we propose a two-phase resource allocation (TPRA) algorithm. In TPRA, an access points (AP) determines its operational carrier bandwidth and bandwidth by means of negotiating with the other APs to be distributed to its connected stations in the first phase. In the second phase, each AP distributes its allocated bandwidths to the associated stations. Numerical results prove that TPRA algorithm enhances throughput performances.
