    Abstract

This paper presents an indirect adaptive nonlinear control scheme for a power system, the dynamics of which are uncertain due to faults on transmission lines. The proposed method combines an input-output feedback linearizing controller with an adaptation algorithm which estimates uncertain parameters in the presence of a fault. Simulations show that power angle stabilization as well as voltage regulation is achieved in a satisfactory manner despite the nonlinearity and uncertainty of the power system.
