Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new encryption method for copyright protection of MP3 and MPEG-4 coder. For the MP3 audio, the magnitude and phase information of modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) coefficients is encrypted. DCT coefficients and motion vectors (MVs) are used for the encryption of the MPEG-4 video. Experimental results indicate that the proposed joint and partial encryption technique provides levels of security and achieves a simple and codingefficient architecture with no adverse impact on error resilience.
