Abstract

The wavelength shifts of over 100 1.5 micrometer distributed feedback (DFB) lasers aged under three different conditions. The results suggest that the lasers aged at lower temperature have wider spread of wavelength shifts than lasers aged at higher temperature. The wavelength shift spread grows wider as the aging period becomes longer for any aging condition, although the median values do not change much with time. The laser wavelength did not necessarily shift gradually with aging.
