N2 - An all-optical flexible packet buffer system is proposed, which consists of a circulating fiber loop and a delay controller implemented by using optical logic AND and XOR gates. The buffer holding time of the proposed system can be controlled in the unit of a loop-circulating delay time. The operational performance is demonstrated by computer simulations.
