An improved design of microstrip patch antennas using compact microstrip resonant cell

Abstract

In this paper, a simple impedance matching technique of microstrip patch antennas using compact microstrip resonant cell (CMRC) is prsented. The characteristic impedance of microstrip line is controlled due to the additional effective inductance of CMRC. Without any matching circuits, microstrip patch antennas can be easily fed by a 50 ω line with CMRC.
