    Abstract

This paper introduces an area-efficient sigma-delta DAC structure with an interpolated noise shaper and a semidigital interpolated finite impulse response (IFIR) reconstruction filter. Applying the IFIR approach to the design of reconstruction filter, we reduce the number of required reconstruction filter coefficients almost by factor of two. Thus, the realized sigma-delta DAC exhibits robust reconstruction filter response with reduction of active area.
