Abstract

We report azimuthal light scattering spectroscopy (φ/LSS), a novel technique for assessing epithelial-cell nuclear morphology. The feasibility of detecting cancer using φ/LSS is demonstrated by measuring φ/LSS spectra from normal and cancerous human colonic mucosa.
