Abstract

Manufacturing system design is closely related in the function, structure, shape, etc. of the workpieces to be manufactured in the manufacturing system. Since a manufacturing system performs the part processing, the processes required are treated as functional requirements for the manufacturing systems design. The objectives of this research are to establish an automated design method for manufacturing system design and to develop a computer system to design manufacturing systems automatically from the product specifications.
