    Abstract

In this paper, we propose an automated grocery ordering system for smart home. We have developed a stationary policy to minimize the total grocery shopping cost. A mathematical model is developed and an efficient algorithm is provided to obtain the optimal parameters for the proposed policy. Finally, we extend our results to more general cases where the storage system is capacitated and the ordering cost is given by a decreasing stepwise function of order quantity.
