Abstract

We propose an adaptive scheme tracking singular values and singular vectors in time-varying reciprocal MIMO channels using a series of training sequence without any CSI. It is a bidirectional iterative tracking (BIT) scheme, in which each side of communication computes their own spatial sub-channel parameters, eventually tracking singular values and singular vectors in an iterative manner. The singular values estimated by the BIT scheme can be used directly for a water-filling type of applications and the complexity of the proposed scheme is acceptable compared with the CSI estimation plus SVD algorithm in time-varying MIMO channels.
