N2 - There is a residue gas which contains CH4 unconverted in LNG reformer and H2 unrefined in PSA, when H2 station produces H2 through LNG reformer. To operate the H2 station efficiently, a study on combustion catalysts to generate heat using residue gas as fuel was carried out. Activity test was carried under two conditions, i.e., 1% CH4, 20% O2 in N2 balance, and one containing H2 (1% CH4, 6% H2, and 20% O2 in N2 balance). The addition of fuel, H2, increased CH4 activity. Mn substituted La-hexaaluminate was most active for CH4 oxidation on both inlet conditions. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2007 AIChE Annual Meeting (Salt Lake City, UT 11/4-9/2007).
