    Abstract

The effect of CdTe shell surrounding HgTe nanoparticle for the charge transport was investigated. HgTe/CdTe core-shell structured nanoparticles were synthesized by the colloidal method in aqueous solution. The photoluminescence spectra of the HgTe showed broad emission brand ranging from 900 to 1400 nm, and the band was attributed to the recombination of excitons. The current level of HgTe/CdTe is observed to be 104 higher than that of HgTe at 5V. This increase of the current in HgTe/CdTe shows that the existence of CdTe shells help either charges transport through nanoparticles or carrier concentration increase.
