Abstract
Color-octet contributions to associated [Formula presented] hadroproduction are studied in detail, and found to be negligible, compared to the ordinary color-singlet contribution. Within the color-singlet model [Formula presented] production in leading order is possible only through the gluon-gluon fusion process. Therefore, associate [Formula presented] hadroproduction remains useful as a clean channel to probe the gluon distribution inside the proton, to study the heavy quarkonia production mechanism, and to find the proton’s spin structure.
