    Abstract

In this study, a turbulent pipe flow noise at ReD=5000 and M=0.1 is computed by an LES/LPCE hybrid method with two different grid systems and boundary conditions employed for flow and acoustics. With this kind of modeling, the turbulent pipe flow noise is directly monitored at two upstream and downstream zones. It is observed that the turbulent pipe flow noise is correlated with turbulent eddy motions within 70 < y+ <100.
