Abstract

A general expression of infinitely many conserved currents for a coupled higher-order nonlinear Schrodinger equation is derived. The inherent types of conserved quantities for each integrable case are determined by the higher-order effects. This is determined by the differences of conserved currents and charges between the Hirota and the Sasa-Satsuma equations.
