Abstract
The effect of initial textures prior to dissimilar channel angular pressing (DCAP) on the texture evolutions of the 1050 Al alloy was studied. Experiments showed that the major texture types finalized by DCAP was significantly affected by the initial texture status prior to DCAP. Texture simulation employing the full constraint Taylor calculations based on the rate sensitivity model was carried out both to explain the experimental results and to predict the initial textures suitable for promoting specific textures.
