    Abstract

Karagozlu et al. (2018) announced the complete mitochondrial genome of a housefly species Hydrotaea (=Ophyra) chalcogaster (Wiedemann, 1824) from a specimen that collected from shade, forest, Namyangju-si, Korea. Immediately following publication, the continued analysis showed that the specimen used in the presented study was misidentified. It belongs to the species Hydrotaea ignava (Harris, 1780) which is a synonym to Hydrotaea leucostoma (Wiedemann, 1817). In light of the discovery of these new findings, the authors corrected the name Hydrotaea chalcogaster as Hydrotaea ignava. Also, the authors would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
