Abstract
In this paper, a new criterion for the H∞ elimination of overflow oscillations in fixed-point digital filters with saturation arithmetic and external disturbance is presented. The criterion not only guarantees exponential stability but also reduces the effect of external disturbance to an H∞ norm constraint. The criterion takes the form of linear matrix inequality (LMI) and, hence, is computationally tractable. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed criterion.
