Derivation of system loss sensitivity using optimization and application to improved ELD computation

This paper presents an application of optimization techniques in deriving a loss sensitivity formula in normal power flow calculation, and a vector formulation of the ELD problem by combining the loss sensitivity formula with the classical ELD equations. Since the loss sensitivities reflect the current network condition, the computation results coincide with the power flow calculation. The derivation of the key equations is described in detail, and they are tested on a sample system.
