Abstract

A structured approach to virtual reality (VR) system design was discussed. A collection of computer aided tools called P-VoT (POSTECH-Virtual reality system development Tool) were developed. The approach was demonstrated by illustrating a step-by-step design of a virtual ship simulator using the CLEVR/P-VoT. The effectiveness of the structured approach was analyzed in terms of quality of the resulting software and reduced effort in its development and maintenance.
