Abstract

In this paper, we have investigated the effects of yoke structure on adjacent track encroachment (TE). The TE characteristics of stitched yoke heads with and without yoke recession are compared by computer simulation as well as actual measurements. The heads comprising recessed yokes show little track encroachment after 1000 iteration of adjacent track writing.
