    Abstract

In order to decrease the loading amount of novel catalysts, IrO2 anodes were fabricated by electrodeposition method on carbon paper, and the water electrolysis performances were evaluated. The IrO2 loading amount gradually increased, with deposition time, up to 0.464 mg/cm2. When single cells of polymer electrolyte membrane based water electrolysis (PEMWE) were operated, the cell performance was comparable to conventional cells with high novel metal loadings.
