Abstract

In this work, we fabricated the microfluidic chip-based micro-alginate tubes (MAT) for angiogenesis. These micro-alginate tubes could be adjusted in selfdeveloping extracellular matrix (ECM)-like networks. We have used poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microfluidic device integrated capillary glass pipette as apparatus for micro-alginate tube generation. In addition, we evaluated the micro-alginate tube as an angiogenesis by loading calf pulmonary artery endothelial (CPAE) cells during the fabrication MHT process. From the LIVE/DEAD assay, CPAE cells survived well during the 5 days in vitro. The microfluidic chip-based micro-alginate tube, including cells or proteins, can be produced effective 3-D shaped micro-vascular for the angiogenesis.
