Abstract

The diffraction behavior of the photorefractive (PR) molecular materials that contained the phenothiazine was reported. The organic molecular materials with phenothiazine derivatives showed unusual diffraction behaviors due to the complementary gratings formed by bipolar transport of photocarriers. The results suggested that a transition of bipolar to monopolar transport in the mechanism of the grating formation can occur by adding the specific molecules to the host PR materials.
