title = "Directional and trans-endothelial migration of mesenchymal stem cell towards SDF-1a gradient on a microfluidic device",
abstract = "Homing of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) for tissue regeneration is known to be controlled by a homing factor, stromal cell-derived factor 1α (SDF-1α) gradient released from injury site. Binding of SDF-1α leads to MSC's extravasation and migration towards the infarcted tissue. In this study, a microfluidic device was designed to witness the homing process of MSC towards SDF-1α gradient. SDF-1 antagonist AMD3100 blocked the binding of SDF-1α to the MSC's receptor which led to loss of directional migration. On the other hand, Rock inhibitor, Y-27632 and Rac inhibitor, NSC23766 had no effects on directional migration but decreased MSC's migration distance.",
