    Abstract

The effect of various silane coupling agents with different organo-functional groups on the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of glass fiber/Nylon 6 composites was investigated. A single fiber microbonding test was used to evaluate the IFSS. It was found that the composites sized with the Z-6040 having methacrylate groups and with the Z-6040 having epoxide exhibit a large increase of the interfacial strength by 132% and 115%, respectively.
