    Abstract

Various electrical properties such as TSC, dielectric breakdown strength, and treeing characteristics of polyethylene are influenced by low MW species such as impurities, additives, or byproducts. Of these the antioxidant is used in order to improve the resistance to oxidative degradation. Antioxidants are expected to influence the space charge formation of PE. The effects of antioxidants on charge accumulation characteristics of polyethylene have been investigated by measuring the spatial charge profiles.
