Abstract

Strain from nanoparticles in a 64.1° WSe2/WS2 heterobilayer boosts second-harmonic generation (SHG), breaking inversion symmetry, with enhancements of 15x, 9x, and up to 100x for linear, right-, and left-circular polarization, maintaining chiral SHG rules.
