N2 - Mesoporous carbons with well defined large-sized pores and intrinsic electrical conductivity are a good candidate as a host of enzyme molecules for bioelectrochemical applications. Mesoporous carbons were used for the immobilization of a redox enzyme. The unique characteristics of mesoporous carbons and their use as a host matrix for enzyme immobilization and further applications in glucose sensing, magnetically switchable bio-electrocatalytic system, and biofeul cells were described. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the AIChE Annual Meeting (San Francisco, CA 11/12-17/2006).
