Abstract

I2-doped poly(2-butoxy-5-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene) (PBMPV) has been studied by EPR. For a heavily doped sample, the spin susceptibility showed Curie behaviour at low temperatures up to 180 K, thereafter increased with increasing temperature before leveling off. This is believed to be due to a recombination process of the polarons into the bipolarons at low temperatures.
