    Abstract

The field emission properties of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) on organic polymer substrate were investigated. SWCNTs films were first deposited on silicon substrates using spray-method. In this case, Electrical properties of SWCNTs can be enhanced by acidic and thermal treatments. And SWCNTs films on silicon substrate were transfer onto the PDMS substrate. In this case, in order to improve the adhesion of the SWCNT emitters, transfer process were carried out just before hardening of the PDMS. The viscosity of PDMS grabs the SWCNTs before hardening. From these emitter surfaces, the SWCNT can be turned on with a field as low as 0.9V/μm. An emission current density of 0.75mA/cm 2 at 1.2V/μm can be attained. The result establishes a method of fabricating a flexible field emitter, which should find practical applications in vacuum electronic devices.
