Abstract

The dynamics of the Internet topology based on empirical data on the level of the autonomous systems was studied. A stochastic model incorporated the values of single characteristic degree growth rate, fluctuation strength, and vertex growth rate, and an adaptation rule was introduced to produce several features of the real Internet topology. It was found that the fluctuations occured in the stochastic process of connecting and disconnecting edges are important features of the Internet dynamics.
