Abstract

When light propagates through a scattering media, light energy is exponentially attenuated due to random diffusion by multiple light scattering. Here, we present a method to focus light energy to the target deeply embedded in a scattering medium by the control of time-gated multiple light scattered waves. In comparison with the case of random diffusion, we could demonstrate 10-fold enhancement of light energy delivery through a rat skull.
