Abstract

The lesser sac is a potential space behind the stomach. The peritoneal covering can be traced from the anterior surface of the pancreas to the spleen. The two landmark folds are important for laparoscopic gastrectomy. The pancreaticogastric fold, which normally is covered by the left lobe of the liver, contains the left gastric artery from the retroperitoneal space to the lesser curvature of the stomach.
