Abstract

(Equation presented) A new N-triflated amino alcohol-titanium catalyst was designed for the asymmetric ethylation of aldehydes. This binaphthyl-based sulfonamido alcohol ligand shows uniformly high yield and enantioselectivity in the diethylzinc additions of aromatic, aliphatic, and unsaturated aldehydes.
