    Abstract

Aqueous phase reforming of glycerol over Ni-based catalysts was carried out at 225°C, 23 bar and LHSV=4 h-1. The Ni-based catalysts were prepared by an incipient wetness impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by N2 physisorption and XRD. It was found that Ni (20 wt%)-Co(3 wt%)/γ-Al2O3 catalyst showed higher glycerol conversion with H2/CO = 4 than the other catalysts. The results suggest that the Ni-Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst can be applied to the synthesis gas production system using APR of glycerol for application in synfuel production.
