Abstract

Our impedance spectroscopy measurements have revealed an increase in the surface state resistance of the topological insulator Bi2Se3 nanoparticles mixed with magnetic insulator BaFe12O19 nanoparticles. The unusual change in the transport properties of the topological insulator may be explained by an opening of the energy band gap, arising from exchange coupling to the proximate magnetic insulator nanoparticles.
