    Abstract

Controlling unsolicited commercial spam mail has become an increasingly critical issue. This study applies a contingent valuation method to measuring the inconvenience cost of spam mail. The mean willingness to pay for controlling the commercial spam mail per individual is estimated as 1836 Korean won (approximately GBP 1.0) per year.
